How can we double server response?

Tuesday February 9th, 2016 Notification, Z.com News

Hello everyone! This is the Z.com editorial team.
Don’t you think that among the number of server users, there are many who are unsatisfied because of slow server response?
Particularly for EC site operators, slow server response will mean a direct decrease in sales. And, increasing the number of servers would mean an increase in cost as well.

To increase that server response, Z.com has adopted high-speed SSD.
Today, I’ll be talking about this SSD in more detail.

● The #1 cause of response decrease: HDD reading and writing

In the first place, why does server response differ by so much?
There are probably those who think “I’ll be fine with my server. It has an ultra-high-speed CPU and high capacity memory.”
But are we really sure about that?
From the graph below, you can see that the primary cause of server response decrease is actually HDD reading and writing (Disk I/O).

● By switching to SSD, we can get more than twice the read/write speed of HDD!

To solve the problem, we are switching to high-speed SSD disks.
When comparing HDD and SSD read/write ability, SSD has the capability of reaching high read/write speeds more than twice that of HDD.

● Z.com will be using SSD on all plans

Starting with AWS, most operators are only applying SSD on one of their plans.
There are also many who are releasing it as a paid option.

Z.com is applying SSD as a standard specification of all plans. From Shared Hosting to WordPress Hosting, and all the way to Cloud, it will be used on all plans.
Of course as a standard specification, it will be totally free.

Moreover, there are cases where SSD is applied only to one type of storage, but Z.com is applying it on main storage, additional storage, and other mail and DB servers?everything will be using SSD.
We are providing the optimal environment for all the users of our servers.
